We’re excited to see you at this new event which serves to recruit volunteers to the 2021 Event Organizing Committee and, simultaneously, develop a pipeline of candidates to the Board of Directors. Join us to learn how the Board of Directors:
Attend our Meet the Board informational session, where you’ll meet with Play Like a Girl staff and current board members to learn more about how to make an impact through service on the Event Organizing Committee or as a member of the Young Professionals Network as a step towards a future position with the Board of Directors.
An interest in board service is not required to volunteer. However, we do hope you will deepen your engagement in our mission over time. As the top level of volunteer leadership at Play Like a Girl, board volunteers leverage key relationships for fundraising, corporate sponsorships and member-mentor recruitment, make personal financial contributions, and serve as active and visible leaders in the community.
Prospective board candidates should be passionate about empowering girls to reach their full potential, eager to engage our mission and work with their time and talents, and comfortable raising a minimum of $5,000 for the organization through corporation sponsorships, foundation grants, and/or individual donations from persons in their network.
Board terms are a minimum of 3 years and begin July 1. Play Like a Girl is currently developing a pipeline of candidates for the 2022-23 term. Formal applications will be due in fall 2021, followed by in-person interviews and election in spring 2022. A mandatory two-day weekend Board Retreat will take place in June 2022.
