Play Like a Girl provides the educational opportunities and practical support girls need to stay on a high-performing academic track through high school and pursue post-secondary educational options leading to a STEM+ career.

8th grade students gain experience creating technology solutions to address real-world problems in monthly workshops that bring mentees and mentors together for guided build exercises.

Students also meet regularly for one-to-one sessions with their mentors to discuss such topics as high school course selection, financial literacy, and other subjects of particular importance to students. In their final semester, students are expected to complete a capstone project as part of our annual Corporate STEM+ Challenge.

Applications open September 1, and will be accepted on a rolling basis until the class is fully enrolled. A parent or guardian is required to attend three mandatory milestone events: The Grownups Gathering, Kickoff Party & Spring Showcase. Students meet as a cohort from November 2021 through April 2022. Proof of vaccination, face masks and social distancing are required for all in-person sessions. Students must use a virtual background and have their video cameras turned on at all times when meeting via Zoom or other video conferencing platforms. No exceptions.
