Play Like a Girl at Indianapolis Motor Speedway

Play Like a Girl invites YOU to join us for a once-in-a-lifetime experience during Indianapolis 500 Qualifications.

About this Event

Play Like a Girl invites women and girls ages 10-17 to visit the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway for a FREE outdoor event during Indianapolis 500 Qualifications on Saturday, May 22. This unique experience includes a jam-packed agenda with behind-the-scenes tours throughout the venue, showcasing a wide variety of opportunities and exciting STEM (and non-STEM) career paths for young women at the NTT INDYCAR SERIES.

Attendees will experience the sights and sounds of America’s premier open-wheel racing series first-hand. Girls will also get a once-in-a-lifetime up close and personal look at female racecar driver Simona de Silvestro and the #16 Paretta Autosport team who will showcase their talents on the race track!

Along with Play Like a Girl, event hosts and partners MoneyLion, INDYCAR & Paretta Autosport are excited to share their collective passion for motorsports and showcase the opportunity within this industry.

Open to women and girls ages 10-17 residing in or traveling to the Metro Indianapolis area.

 


Play Like a Girl On the Green

Tournament host Play Like a Girl and an elevated field of women and men of all skill levels compete at The Grove while having tons of fun raising funds to level the playing field for girls in STEM and sports. This elevated experience culminates with a one-of-a-kind Women in the Round songwriters concert.

US-Mexico-Nicaragua International Sports Programming Initiative

The US-Mexico-Nicaragua International Sports Programming Initiative, organized by WorldChicago and the Women Win Foundation, is a US Department of State-sponsored exchange program that aims to promote sports as a tool for development, particularly in women's empowerment, gender equality, and youth leadership.

The program is currently looking to enroll aspiring and non-elite coaches and administrators of Girls Sports (aged 20 and over) from the United States in a virtual exchange, scheduled to run from November 6 to December 18, 2020, and a tentative in-person exchange in Chicago, scheduled to occur in May 2021.

American participants will benefit from the following perks:

  • FREE access to a series of expert-led workshops on coaching and sport administration for social change from November 6 - December 18, 2020.
  • Double-Goal Coaching Certification from the Positive Coaching Alliance at ZERO cost.
  • Meaningful cultural and professional exchanges with athletic professionals from Mexico and Nicaragua.
  • Recognition as program alumni of the US Department of State and exclusive access to alumni support resources.
