DESCRIPTION:About Play Like a Girl Camp\nWomen hold only 28% of jobs in science\, technology\, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Worldwide\, women represent only 35% of all students enrolled in STEM-related fields of study. \nPlay Like a Girl Camp aims to bridge that gap through hands-on STEM education\, mentorship opportunities\, and transformational leadership training. \nCamp is a unique opportunity for 35 middle school girls to dive into STEM-related subjects alongside their peers and develop their leadership skills in a uniquely safe\, supportive\, and girl-centered environment\, with all expenses paid. \nCampers learn to value taking risks and bouncing back from failure\, in a fun camp environment that includes: \n\nArts and crafts projects\nSTEM career exploration led by industry experts\nSports enrichment and physical activity\nFun\, mind-bending brain breaks\nGirls Who Code Club sessions (daily)\nA community service project to culminate the week\n\nRegistration Fee: $25. Supplies\, snacks\, bottled water and lots of giveaways provided daily. Students are responsible for a healthy brown bag lunch (no restaurant food) each day. \n  \nNote: We will no longer offer free-to-register programs and events. Free events\, particularly during the COVID-19 era\, carry extremely high no-show risks\, thereby reducing our impact and risking our relationships with partners and sponsors who invest time\, talent and treasure to deliver high-quality programming for our girls.
