Play Like a Girl’s 4th annual Girls Rock STEM+ Summit returns on March 1, 2024 at St. Mary’s Academy in New Orleans, LA, from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Middle and high school students will hear from leading women in STEM as they share stories about their journey, the obstacles they’ve overcome, and the tools and techniques they’ve applied to pave their way to success.
Girls Rock STEM+ will feature a full day of conversations, workshops and a block party featuring on-site activations such as food trucks, photo experiences, speed mentoring sessions, and an expo where students can explore a mix of a college and career fair, industry-sponsored exhibits, and hands-on demonstrations led by diverse guest speakers from across the country.
The United States Air Force (USAF) has teamed up with Play Like a Girl as the primary sponsor for Girls Rock STEM+. Throughout the Summit + Block Party, the Air Force will support students in a number of important ways. This includes connecting students with Airmen from across the Air Force, Guard and Reserve for hands-on STEM education and a basketball skills clinic led by USAF and Space Force athletes from the Air Force Academy. Students will also engage in an online, interactive gaming experience, E.C.H.O. – Enhanced Cognitive Human Ops, to build awareness of different opportunities in the Air Force.
As a champion of girls and women in sports, USAF aims to leverage this one-of-a-kind educational event to inspire more girls and young women to participate in sports and stay fit enough to one day serve in the Air Force.
