An Inside Look is your middle school student’s chance to learn about career opportunities at leading companies, network with professionals from diverse backgrounds, and meet other girls with an interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

November 6 is a District-wide Professional Development Day for teachers in Williamson County (Tennessee) Schools. So to help our parents out, we’re hosting a special industry field trip for 6-8th grade girls from private, public, charter and home schools across Williamson County and the Greater Nashville area. The Total Customer Satisfaction Team at Nissan has prepared a day of innovation and fun that she doesn’t want miss. We’ll spend the day at the Smyrna Campus and Nissan Training Center at Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) exploring educational opportunities closely aligned to current workforce needs at Nissan facilities and other employers across the Middle Tennessee region.

At this Inside Look, your student will:

• Learn some of the latest automotive technologies.
• Engage in interactive, hands-on STEM experiences and challenges.
• Get firsthand career insights and advice from women leaders at Nissan with backgrounds in all aspects of STEM.

 

The $45.75 million, state-of-the-art TCAT campus also offers high-quality programs to prepare students and Nissan employees for careers in advanced manufacturing and other STEM-related fields including Automotive Technology, Collision Repair Technology, Industrial Electrical Maintenance/Mechatronics, Machine Tool Technology and Welding Technology.

Oh, and did we mention FREE lunch?! Yep, that’s right. Plus, girls who bring a friend (registration required) will be entered for a random drawing of $100 in cash!

Plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to start time.

What to Wear (or Bring)
All Play Like a Girl guests must wear long pants (athleisure wear or denim jeans are ideal) and sneakers or flat, closed-toed, and closed-heeled shoes (no sandals, clogs or high heels). Long hair must be pulled at or above shoulder length. Loose fitting clothing and accessories (long-hanging jewelry, scarves, or ties) are not permitted. Headscarves worn for religious reasons are permitted but must be tucked in securely.

Students may bring a wallet and cell phone. Other personal bags or items must be left in the car or in a secured room on site. Outside food and drink will not be permitted.

 

LATE ARRIVAL, CANCELLATION & NO-SHOW POLICY
A program participant who has incurred three (3) documented “same-day cancellations” and/or “no-shows” may be subject to restriction from any future programs or events and dismissal from Play Like a Girl entirely, in accordance with policy guidelines.
