Leadership Academy

Play Like a Girl’s Leadership Academy is an 8-week mentoring program specially designed to build girls’ confidence and leadership skills.

The Leadership Academy supports 8th grade girls, preparing them for the next step in their education after middle school. Using the brand-new Lean In Girls curriculum, this program helps girls see themselves as leaders in a world that often tells them they’re not.

Students connect regularly with inspiring women role models and mentors, build friendships with their classmates at STRIVE Collegiate Academy, and learn to lead boldly. They also experience monthly enrichment events and activities that reinforce key learnings from their twice-weekly lunchtime mentoring sessions led by Miss Ticoria Wagner.

Girls eligible to participate are current 8th graders (9th graders in Fall 2024) who commit to complete the 8-week program* which includes corporate field trips, mentoring workshops, hands-on activities, personal development and enrichment activities designed just for them.

All mentoring sessions are held on Monday and Thursday, from 12:15 until 12:45 PM.

Enrichment Activities

• March 7: Power Hour at Bridgestone Tower (Mother-Daughter)
• March 8: International Women’s Day Celebration at Kendra Scott – Hill Center
• April 11: Celebration!

 

Leadership Academy is FREE to all 8th grade girls at STRIVE Collegiate Academy. Catered lunch is provided at each lunchtime mentoring session. Those who complete the program receive cash stipends at the Celebration, April 11th!
