Play Like a Girl proudly celebrates Dr. Kristen Sharp, an accomplished healthcare finance executive and dedicated mentor, for her recent selection as a 2025 Women in Business honoree by Nashville Lifestyles magazine. This distinguished recognition honors women leaders across industries who are actively redefining business, culture, and community impact throughout Middle Tennessee.

Driving Change at the Intersection of Equity and Leadership

Kristen brings more than a decade of experience in the healthcare sector, where she has championed financial strategy, operational efficiency, and health equity in every role she’s held. Her commitment to leadership extends beyond her career and into her deep passion for mentoring girls through service on the Play Like a Girl Board of Directors and as former Executive Co-chair of the NextGen Leadership Network. She continuously encourages young professionals to contribute their time, skills, and resources toward creating a more equitable world for girls—especially those from historically underrepresented backgrounds.

In addition to the Women in Business distinction, Kristen also earned recognition as a finalist for the 2025 Cable Nashville Awards, which highlight women who exemplify leadership excellence and a strong commitment to advancing opportunities for women and girls. Kristen’s selection for both of these prestigious honors reflects the widespread impact of her leadership in the workplace and her relentless involvement for equity, service, and community advancement.

Inspiring a New Vision for Leadership and Moving Nashville Forward

“As women in business, our power lies not just in breaking barriers—but in building bridges,” Kristen shared. “True success means using your seat at the table to pull up a chair for someone else, amplify unheard voices, and redefine what leadership looks like for the next generation.” Through both her professional work and volunteer leadership, Kristen continues to inspire others to lead with purpose and to make space for those who have traditionally been left out.

Kristen will be honored on September 4, at Nashville Lifestyles’ annual cocktail reception, which will celebrate the 2025 Women in Business honorees—trailblazing leaders from across the region who are shaping Nashville’s cultural and professional landscape. The event brings together executives, entrepreneurs, and community builders who are committed to inclusive leadership and transformative change.

We at Play Like a Girl are deeply proud of Kristen’s achievements and the values she embodies through her leadership. Her recognition as both a Women in Business honoree and Cable Nashville Awards finalist reflects her commitment to advancing girls and women in every field. Kristen’s continued leadership on our board strengthens our mission to inspire confidence in girls through access to mentorship, career exploration, and opportunities in STEM and sports.
