Play Like a Girl kicked off the season of sunshine and unlimited outdoor time with its annual Summer Social, held on June 26 at Fait La Force Brewing in Nashville. The event brought together donors, corporate sponsors, participants, alumnae, and parents, volunteers, and community partners to celebrate the impact of our collective work—and to chart an inspiring path forward for our mission.

This year’s Summer Social followed a powerful season of fundraising, engagement, and momentum. Since our annual Honors celebration in March, the Play Like a Girl community has helped raise more than $250,000, including unexpected gifts from RuPaul’s Drag Race and professional ballers Candace Parker & Russell Westbrook, to support our free mentorship and career-readiness programs for middle school girls in STEM and sports. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the generosity, dedication, and belief in what’s possible when we work together.

Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed a vibrant happy hour with light bites, craft brews, music, and networking. We shared heartfelt reflections and stories of impact while recognizing those who have helped shape our mission—including the presentation of a small token of appreciation to Kaitlyn Stroinski and Emily Williams, members of our NextGen Network, whose year of leadership and meaningful service has come to an end. NextGen members Elaina LeMasters and Dr. Kristen Sharp will continue their journey with us.

A major highlight of the evening was the formal introduction of our newly-elected Board of Directors—a dynamic group of leaders from across the country who bring a range of perspectives, talents, and experiences to guide the organization through its next chapter of growth and impact.
