Position Summary

The Program Manager will play a vital role in supporting the execution of Play Like a Girl’s Strategic Plan, working closely with the Director of Partnerships, Strategy & Operations and CEO to ensure seamless program delivery, partner engagement, and measurable impact. This position is critical in operationalizing the organization’s core programs, aligning them with strategic priorities such as evidence-based programming, evaluation, and scaling for regional and national growth. 

Reporting to the Director of Partnerships, Strategy & Operations, this role manages day-to-day operations, ensuring that program logistics, timelines, and budgets are executed effectively while maintaining high-quality standards. The Program Manager will also be instrumental in building and nurturing relationships with partners, volunteers, and stakeholders, contributing to the organization’s revenue-generation efforts through detailed program reporting, data collection, and identifying potential funding opportunities. This role requires a detail-oriented, collaborative individual who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, ensuring that Play Like a Girl’s programs are not only impactful but also scalable and sustainable for future growth. The Program Manager must excel at generating revenue, delivering value that exceeds their cost, and taking on key responsibilities that free up the CEO’s capacity to focus on creativity, innovation, and strategic growth.

Candidates must be fully equipped with a dedicated home office and quiet workspace, along with a reliable computer, high‑speed internet, color printer, and phone. Play Like a Girl will provide basic office supplies such as paper and pens to support this setup.

This is a fully remote role with regular onsite responsibilities for program implementation, partner meetings, and events. Candidates should reside within 30 miles of a major international airport and practical ground travel distance to priority markets.

Travel Requirements: Approximately 25–30%.

Key Responsibilities

Program Implementation & Coordination

  • Translate organizational priorities into clear program objectives, outcomes, schedules, and implementation plans.
  • Develop detailed project plans including budgets, resource allocation, logistics, and risk mitigation, ensuring all programs meet quality and impact standards.
  • Plan and execute school- and community-based programs, mentoring sessions, field trips, and special events.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and support facilitators, mentors, volunteers, and interns to ensure consistent program delivery.
  • Build engaging lessons and program experiences based on established curriculum and student development goals.
  • Lead weekly program sessions at partner school sites and provide high-quality facilitation when needed.
  • Execute 2–4 monthly onsite events at partner schools to strengthen relationships and support ongoing engagement.
  • Adapt and refine programs based on research, participant feedback, and performance data to ensure continuous improvement and scalability.
  • Oversee day-to-day program operations, ensuring all activities meet Play Like a Girl’s mission, standards, and partner expectations.

Operational Excellence

  • Coordinate all logistical components for program delivery, including scheduling, permissions, transportation, materials, AV/space needs, and supply management.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders during program planning and execution.
  • Lead day-of operations including run-of-show, briefings, volunteer and partner coordination, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain thorough documentation, including rosters, releases, inventories, compliance materials, and accurate program records.
  • Conduct post-event debriefs and implement improvements to strengthen efficiency and consistency.

Partnership Engagement

  • Support the cultivation, management, and stewardship of partnerships with schools, community organizations, and corporate sponsors.
  • Represent Play Like a Girl at meetings, events, and partner activities to strengthen relationships and enhance program success.
  • Provide timely communication, updates, and support to external partners, ensuring clarity and high satisfaction.
  • Develop and deliver training for mentors, facilitators, and volunteers; provide ongoing coaching and resources to ensure quality delivery.
  • Foster strong, respectful, and supportive relationships with educators, administrators, parents, volunteers, and community stakeholders.

Revenue Generation & Resource Stewardship

  • Collaborate with the development and partnerships teams to identify program-aligned funding opportunities.
  • Contribute program data, stories, budgets, and insights for grant applications, proposals, and sponsorship materials.
  • Ensure programs meet all requirements tied to partner and funder agreements, including deliverables, reporting, and impact measures.
  • Manage program budgets, monitor costs, track in-kind contributions, and identify efficiencies to strengthen ROI and sustainability.
  • Proactively identify value-add opportunities that strengthen corporate engagement and deepen partner investment.

Impact Measurement & Reporting

  • Collect, analyze, and track program data including surveys, attendance, performance indicators, and qualitative feedback.
  • Prepare timely and accurate reports for internal decision-making and external stakeholders including sponsors, funders, and partners.
  • Assess program effectiveness, identify trends, and recommend improvements for quality, alignment, and scalability.
  • Gather stories, photos, testimonials, and success indicators to support grant renewals, fundraising, and marketing communications.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in program management or nonprofit leadership.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in working with diverse stakeholders, including corporate partners, schools, and community organizations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Asana, Loom, Slack, and other digital tools for collaboration and program management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in STEM education, youth development, or sports-based programming.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit fundraising practices, including grant writing and donor relations.
  • Proficiency in Little Green Light, POINT, or similar CRM platforms.
  • Spanish language skills.

Pay & Benefits (after 90 days of employment)

  • Salary Range: $55,000–$70,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
  • Retirement: 403(b) investment account.
